Qualifications

​

GCSE Music and Level 2 Performance Skills.

A level Performing Arts (Music).

Extra-Curricular Activities

​

Orchestra on Monday Lunchtimes, Choir Mondays after school and School of Rock Wednesdays after school. We also offer GCSE support at lunchtimes with composition/ensemble club.

Weekly Instrument Lessons

​

Piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, drums, singing, ukulele, woodwind, brass and strings.

Music Department Information

​

  • Our choir participate in the Derry Feis and Choral festival every year.

  • We host “The Green Lounge Live” event in school every winter to showcase budding talent in the school.

  • We perform at the Jazz Festival every year.

  • Pupil Aoibh Logue progressed to the semi-finals of BBC Soloist of the Year in 2022.

  • We regularly collaborate with the Gasyard Feile with productions such as “A green hill far away” and “The Equinox Project”.

  • Our ukulele and guitar pupils take part in a community busking event in Foyleside to raise money for charity.

  • We also visit Cregan Day Centre to provide entertainment to the residents.
