Investors in Pupils Award

12th June 2017

Dear Students of St Cecilia’s College.

I would like to thank you all for making me very welcome when I visited your school to assess ‘Investors in Pupils’ on the 2nd June 2017.You were all extremely polite, friendly, confident and extremely well behaved. You are obviously very proud of your school and the work you are doing to make it an even better place for everyone.Thank you for helping to make the assessment day run smoothly.

I am very grateful to all students who took me on a tour of the school, came to talk to me and had lunch with. You were excellent in helping me understand how St Cecilia’s works. You all were very aware about how the Investors in Pupils award can raise achievement.

I was very pleased to find out about the activities that your teachers and class tutors help you with. They work very hard to make St Cecilia’s such a brilliant place to be where everyone enjoys their learning. I was very impressed with your classroom and corridor displays and I hopeall your targets have all been met.

You informed me that:

  • You work together to make St Cecilia’sa better school environment for everyone.

  • You work hard to look after, care and develop self -belief in each other.

  • You clearly understand the value of teamwork.

  • You enjoy school life and are aware that learning will help you in your future life.

  • You use your planner as avaluable learning tool.

  • You understand the workings and value of the school council, and feel listened to.

  • You know who to turn to for a helping hand if you have any concerns.

  • You place emphasis on induction of new students and staff to St Cecilia’s.

  • You enjoy the wide mix of academic and extra curricular activities on offer.

  • You are well informed about how St Cecilia’s spends its annual budget and what the Support Staff, Learning Support,Outside Agencies,Principal,Teachers, Governors and Parents,do to help in the school.

I have some suggestions for work you may like to develop over the next three years,to make ‘Investors in Pupils’ even better in your school. I am sure Mrs Mulhern and Mrs Crilly will talk to you about these. You might even have some ideas of your own,so be creative. You really appreciate what this school does for you!

Well done to all of you! I hope that you are going to have a big celebration now that you have the ‘Investors in Pupils’ award.

I wish you every success in the future, and always remember,Aspire, Endeavour, Achieve.

Yours sincerely,
