The City of Hope Collective is a performing group and a programme of talent and skills development for young musicians, dancers and singers from a range of backgrounds in Derry aged 16-20 years old. It develops young leaders in the performing arts and promotes Londonderry as a positive, united and cultural City.
Aims of the project:
-
Develop and promote young talent
-
Promote our city as a positive, united and cultural city
-
Provide performance opportunities for young people locally, nationally and internationally
-
Build creative links and partnerships
-
Create opportunities for less advantaged young people to participate in the arts
Dear colleague
Please accept this as your invitation to the City of Hope Night at the Races! The young people themselves are organising the event which is on the 26th March at 7.30pm, in the Everglades Hotel and is a fundraiser to support the City of Hope project (a reminder about the project itself can be found below)
If you can make it on the night that would be amazing, entrance is free and the young people themselves will also be performing by way of a thank you. In the meantime there are other ways you can help (can you feel your wallet shrinking as you read this?!) You can either (although feel free to do all 3):
1. Sponsor a race and be bountifully rewarded with profile on the night and the website (
www.cityofhopecollective.org
) Races cost between £50 and £250 to sponsor. Really just depends on how generous you are feeling.
2. Buy a horse - This way you have a 1 in 8 chance of winning something back, and that's not bad odds. Horses are £10 each. Available from myself, Erin Kivlehan, Lauren Doherty, Christina McDaid, Christina McGarvey or Niamh Kehoe.
3. Donate a raffle prize for the night.
I really hope you can support these incredible young people, and I look forward to hearing from you or seeing you on the night, I think it will be a really fun night out.
Kindest regards
Juliette
